ArchAeological EXCURSIONS
Dr. Peter Harbison is an archaeologist and art historian recognised internationally as an expert on Ireland’s ancient monuments from prehistoric tombs to medieval crosses, churches and castles. Author of over twenty books, he is beloved for the way he wears his learning so lightly in transmitting his enthusiasm to his audiences.
EXCURSION
Your archaeological excursion begins at 9 a.m. from Inchiquin Country House when the private coach sets off on your full-day excursion to the highlights of the Burren’s historic monuments. Enroute and on site Dr. Peter Harbison’s insights will help you experience the fascinating features that the region has to offer. For lunch you will have the choice of the Michelin recommended Wild Honey Inn in Lisdoonvarna or weather permitting, a scenic picnic lunch prepared by our House Chef Liam Walsh. Your excursion with Peter will culminate back at Inchiquin Country House between 6-7 p.m. with a deserved glass of chilled bubbly and snacks.

Burren Botanical Excursions
Maryangela Keane is one of the most respected of Burren botanists. She has anencyclopaedic knowledge of the exotic mixture of Antarctic and Alpine plants living side by side in this extraordinary karst-limestone landscape in northern Clare. This, together with her lively and very personalised presentation, is what has made her the most popular guide and international lecturer on the Burren's wild flowers.
She is also the author of one of the classic books on the Burren's famous flora.
Botanical Excursion
Your private coach will set off at 9 a.m. from Inchiquin Country House on your botanical day of discovery. Maryangela Keane will delight you all day with so many hidden botanical treasures unique to the Burren in this part of Clare.
